Every year at the end of summer/beginning of fall Michael’s favorite time of year comes around…college football season. Not my personal favorite time of year however he has slightly turned me on to it.
His favorite college football team is Navy who play in the American Athletic Conference. He loves them so much that his “man cave” is Navy Football themed!! Long story short, he’s obsessed and I’m secretly into the team also. We have matching Navy Football sweatshirts and I even have a Sherpa Navy Football pullover.
So we hopped in the car and took our 2.5-hour drive to Annapolis, Maryland. Annapolis is seriously one of the cutest places I have ever been! It gets even better as you go towards the Naval Academy and the water!
Last year we ate at the Iron Rooster, which was AMAZING! This year we made our stop at Galway Bay Irish Restaurant and Pub. Decent food and a super excited atmosphere for the game ahead!
This year I made sure I was fully prepared for anything because last year we ended up sitting on their lawn the day after a big rainstorm. It was muddy and tough to sit on the slanted lawn. I also got hit in the head while Air Force was practicing which is still a highlight amongst my friends and family.
When we got to the stadium I was fully prepared to just walk right in because I did my homework and bought a clear purse for the game! No bag check line for me when security can see right through!! It was a hit with security and the women that sat around me!
For this year’s game against Houston (which was a big game as per Michael), we had awesome seats!! We were nestled under the stadium overhang so not too hot and not too cold it was just right!! The game started out pretty well and everyone rooting for Navy was really getting into the energy!
At one point during the game, I noticed that our seats had these yellow tags on them. Each seat was dedicated to someone by his or her family member. I sat in seat dedicated to a Vice Admiral in the United State Navy by his wife. Truly so sweet and crazy how many seats had dedication.
Unfortunately, the game did not go so well for Navy and they ended up losing and that did not sit well with Michael. Oh well it was still a nice day!
I really do recommend that if you are ever driving through Maryland you make a stop in Annapolis!! And you try out probably one of the best food places Iron Rooster!
