What Fashion Means to Me

January 16, 2019

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a knack for putting outfits together for any occasion. If an event came up, I was in my car and at the store before anyone could even tell me when and where the event was or if we were even going. I’m still slightly that way but thank goodness for Pinterest, online shopping and free shipping! I’d also like to brag for one second and say that I won Best Dressed in highschool so clearly I loved getting all dressed up even for high school classes.

When people talk about fashion, I sometimes think that we forget that it is a very personal thing. Something I like may be would be considered fashionable to me, but it could be the ugliest thing you have ever seen.

I don’t think we should judge people for their fashion rather accept them for being happy and comfortable expressing who they are! All that should truly matter is that you are happy.

I am very particular when it comes to my own personal fashion choices. For example, I prefer not to wear florals because I think they look too busy on me, but I know people who look amazing in floral prints! Look at that floral scarf from 2011!! But without a doubt, you can find me in something leopard. I LOVE leopard. Leopard is a neutral and I will never let anyone tell me otherwise. Check out those leopard strappy shoes circa 2012!

Besides leopard, I love me a good neutral. Give me a pair of black jeans, white t-shirt and denim jacket and boom…my go to casual outfit.

Now throw on leopard mules and dude we are in business! I also have a weird love affair with horizontal stripes. I know the rumor is they’re not flattering but guys they are so fun and I will not listen to rumors and I will wear them proudly!

Honestly, I just try to wear whatever makes me happy. If it’s a yellow tutu then it is what it is. And some days what makes me happy is my PJs (which are not cute and matching they’re random workout clothes that I find in my bedroom sometimes).

I try not to shop at the same places over and over. I like to branch out and try out different shops. I even shop at what I like to call “sketchy websites” that may not have the best reviews but every once in a while, you get a heck of a deal you just can’t deny!

My absolute favorite places to shop are Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Burlington Coat Factory, Loft, Kohls, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, DSW, Macys. The list goes on and on and on. I’ll be sure to update you as I shop and pick stuff up!

Love always,

Z
